2025 Kalbar Sunflower Festival

Our Children’s Hub will also include an Animal Petting Farm for the first time, lots of free art and craft activities for the little ones and free face painting and tattoos – sunflower ones of course. Live entertainment will feature each day with some new talent on board for your enjoyment. The River 94.9 Maze will be back and full of surprises. We have made sure that there are food choices for everyone, from our Mater Devonshire Tea marquee which will be serving lovely fresh scones with jam and cream and fresh sandwiches, our special event lunches, and gala dinner and of course a wide array of food trucks for you to choose from. Market stalls with everything sunflower you can imagine to browse through. We will again have Pick your Own Flowers $2 a stem or you can purchase a pre-cut bunch as you leave the festival, our band of volunteers will be working hard to keep the flowers stocked. All funds raised through the flower sales goes to our charity partners - The Mater Foundation - to provide funds for a Cancer Care Nurse and the Ipswich Hospital Foundation for the purchase of a cuddle bed for the palliative care ward. Our sensory garden will be back bigger and better, as well as a longer wheelchair accessible track and a secret fairy garden. Sunflower Memorial - for $2 (funds go to Cancer Care) you can purchase a pre-painted yellow rock, write the name of our loved one you are missing and place in our giant sunflower. Another first this year is our Community Mural Project. Get hands on and paint a small piece of these two fabulous murals which will be donated to community organisations at the end of the festival.
