The Farm Byron Bay

The Farm Byron Bay is one of those spots that has everything, and can easily keep you occupied for a few hours when you visit. With a working farm, playground, plant nursery, sustainable market garden, restaurant, bakery, gelato stall and florist, there is plenty here to explore.

When you arrive, you’re welcomed straight into the Farm’s wide open spaces. There is a great climbing playground for the kids, picnic tables to sit and watch the world go by, animal pens, produce gardens and the main Farm House. It doesn’t cost anything to visit, and you can wander around and let the kids have a play.

While there are special workshops and school holiday programs run at The Farm Byron Bay, you can turn up any day at 10am and join in on some fun animal feeding – free of cost and no bookings required! Grab some of the bakery scraps and help feed the hungry pigs, or scoop handfuls of grain and seed and hand feed the chickens. Watching the toddlers try to pat the chickens while they scrabble for food is definitely a funny sight!

Whenever you visit, have a look at the signs around the farm and you’ll be able to take yourself on a self guided tour, seeing first hand the farm to table ethos at The Farm Byron Bay. Come at 10.30am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and you can book yourself in to an ever popular guided farm tour – bookings are definitely essential for these and there is a small cost.

Whenever you visit, be sure to stop by the bakery – there are so many delicious treats in here you’ll have a hard time choosing just one! If you’re looking for something more substantial, Three Blue Ducks is the onsite restaurant and cafe, sourcing as much as possible from The Farm. They embrace produce that is organic or spray free and sustainably farmed to make all the meals on the menu.
