What a great park Tallowwood Park is! With a large open green space dotted with shady trees, a beautiful lake with ducks, a small but adrenalin-packed bike track and a fenced playground – there really isn’t more that you could ask for here!
Pack the bikes and scooters and start off with a walk along the lake. Be sure to look for ducks and turtles! You can do a complete lap of the lake, or just follow the length along the path if those little legs aren’t quite up to the full loop. Then follow the wide pathways over to the playground area, this is where you’ll want to base yourselves!
Here you’ll find picnic tables, BBQ’s, a nearby toilet block, a super cute bike track and the playground. The little ones love to race around the bike track, taking the twists and turns and zooming over the hills. We set up a picnic blanket here and enjoyed our morning tea in between riding. Once they’ve had enough of the bikes, it’s time to take on the playground! It is fully fenced, however bigger kids (or very adventurous toddlers) may be able to escape as one section is a rock wall that could be climbed – so keep an eye on any escape artists!
We visited during the week and it was quiet, but with a few people around still. On Saturday morning’s, the Coomera Parkrun takes place here, so I imagine it would get quite busy early in the morning. But this park is definitely top of my list for a birthday party venue, as there is so much space to spread out and even if you don’t get a picnic table, with all the shade around you could easily set up your own comfortable space. There is also a cafe in the small shopping complex next door – perfect for grabbing your coffee and going for a walk with the kids!
