Summer Land Camels is Australia’s largest wild camel training centre and dairy operation, located in the Scenic Rim, just 80 minutes from the Gold Coast.
Everyone is welcome to visit the Summer Land Camels for free, to see and pat the camels. For a few dollars you can purchase camel food and feed them over the fence, or you can buy tickets for a farm tour or camel ride. There’s also a beautiful country cafe where you can taste camel milk, camel gelato and amazing camel milk cheeses!
Summer Land Camels also hosts a range of events throughout the year, including the popular school holiday Little Humpty Days designed just for kids. Other events include the annual Bush Festival, Country Markets and Farm Gate trails. These are great days to visit as you get to experience Summer Land Camels, but also get a taste of other local farms, produce and businesses too!
We’ve visited Summer Land Camels a couple of times now for different events. The Little Humpty Day is definitely one of our favourites, but if you’re in the area a visit on a regular day is just as fun. Children must be aged 4 and over to ride the camel, and parents must also purchase a ride ticket if you want to accompany them. The ride is about 10 minutes through the gardens (you cannot walk alongside as it goes into out-of-bounds areas, so parents must wait at the ride start if not riding).
