Tucked alongside one of the main streets of Helensvale, many drive straight past Lions Park at Helensvale without realising what this gem has to offer! Families with kids ranging in ages will love this spot, as there is enough equipment to occupy the youngest through to the eldest of children. Got a ninja warrior on hand? This will also be the park for you, with it’s parkour inspired equipment keeping even the most skilled climber occupied for hours!
The main feature of this playground is the giant pirate ship inspired fort, with look-outs, a net bridge and a mega slide! Little ones will not be able to tackle this equipment, as the only way up is to climb the nets! To the side of this you’ll find the parkour cube, with rope monkey bars, rock climbing wall and swinging obstacles to tackle ninja warrior style.
For the little ones, there is a bunch of equipment perfectly suited to toddlers or early primary students. Choose between the mini fort and slide, bumble bee rocker, see-saw, wobble boards, swing set and rope spinner. All of this set out underneath big shady trees, providing shade and a nice breeze.
In terms of facilities, this park ticks all the boxes. You’ll find 3 picnic shelters, a toilet block, water fountain and BBQ all located alongside the playground. There are a few designated parking spots, otherwise street parking is available.
