Gumnut Park at Worongary is the first playground to open in the new SkyRidge Development. Located on Welcome Avenue, this gumnut inspired playground is perfect for the younger kids. I would put this age range best at 1 – 6 years.
Here you will find two gumnut shaped pods, linked by a rope balance beam. One gumnut is better suited to the youngest of toddlers, with enclosed steps and easily accessible play elements. The second gumnut is a little higher in design, and requires climbing a rope ladder to access. Both gumnuts have a slide, with one higher than the other. I loved how the design enables the younger toddlers to play, as well as challenging the abilities of slightly older toddlers. The little nooks and hidey-holes also make for some great imaginative and exploratory play.
Other features of this green space include a swinging balance beam and a spinner, as well as some weighted fitness equipment. There is a large open, grassy field, and some picnic tables, although these are some distance away from the playground.
