Goldmine Reserve Playground at Ormeau opened in March 2024, and has provided a much needed playground for those on the Eastern side of the suburb. Ideal for primary schoolers, this playground is packed with climbing opportunities to test their skills.
While there are two slides of differing heights, the main attraction here is the numerous rope climbing nets, balancing obstacles and monkey bars. For kids who like ninja style play opportunities, this is the spot for them. This playground is not for the toddlers, with pretty much everything in the playground only accessible by climbing on a rope obstacle.
Other features of the playground include a spinner and a large basket swing. The entire playground is shade covered, and there are sandstone blocks for seating. Next to the playground is a large green space, perfect for kicking a ball around. Parking here is on the neighbourhood street, and there are no toilet or BBQ facilities.
