Budds Beach is just minutes from Surfers Paradise, and the perfect spot for families with little ones to visit for a play, picnic and swim.
A day at the beach with little ones can be daunting – big waves, crowds, huge foreshores and carparks miles from the sand. That’s where little spots like Budds Beach are great for taking the kids and saving your sanity! Park just metres from the water, the sheltered foreshore is shade covered with established trees, and the gentle waves mean plenty of fun splashing in the shallows.
We love to set up a picnic blanket on the edge of the sand in the shade, and spend our time floating back and forth between the blanket (snacks are life) and the water. The waves from the wash of a boat or jetski passing by are the only waves you’ll find at this beach! This makes it perfect for those a little unsteady on their feet, or even crawling.
The beachside playground is also a great part of a visit to Budds Beach! The playground is very simple in style, partially fenced from the road, covered in shade and has toddler friendly equipment. It’s a great addition for those who might have had enough of swimming and looking for some more fun.
Bring your picnic basket, pack for a BBQ or pick up some takeaway from Gold Coast icon Bumbles Cafe. The options are all family friendly and there are plenty of park benches, picnic tables and BBQs. You’ll also find an amenities block with toilets and a shower to rinse off after a swim.
