Best ninja climbing parks for Gold Coast kids

Have you got a child who loves to climb? Then these ninja parks are just for you! Whether it’s monkey bars, upside down ropes or swinging ladders, there are some great challenges on offer across the Gold Coast. I’ve rounded up the best Gold Coast parks for ninja climbers to take on – which one will you conquer first?

Mrs Lardeedah Ninja Climber The Heights Park

The Heights, Pimpama

Little Ninja Warriors will love this playground at The Heights Pimpama! Living up to it’s name, this playground is all about climbing high. From the centre tower with birds nest and slide, to the amazing climbing dome and monkey bars – kids can scale the heights to their hearts desire. The climbing dome really is a highlight of this park, I haven’t seen one this good before! There are so many ways for the kids to climb up and over, with a few platforms for resting upon too. If that’s not enough, there is also a set of monkey bars here.

Mrs Lardeedah Ninja Climber Galleon Park

Galleon Park, Currumbin Waters

This has to be one of the best parks on the southern end of the Gold Coast – a learn to ride track, a playground for toddlers and older kids, basket ball court, grassy field, picnic shelter and toilets!! The climbing elements on offer here include a number of monkey bars, spider web walls, rope tunnels and swinging steps.

Mrs Lardeedah Ninja Climber Corymbia Park

Corymbia Park, Coomera

The climbing dome here is not for the faint of heart!  Junior ninja warriors will love the large climbing dome and monkey bars, designed to test even the best of climbers. Here you can go up and over, tackle the sideways rope webs or climb a rock climbing wall. There is also a mini version perfect for the little ones.

Mrs Lardeedah Ninja Climber Lions Park

Lions Park, Helensvale

This parkour inspired equipment will keep even the most skilled climber occupied for hours! The main feature of this playground is the giant pirate ship inspired fort, with look-outs, a net bridge and a mega slide. Little ones will not be able to tackle this equipment, as the only way up is to climb the nets! To the side of this you’ll find the parkour cube, with rope monkey bars, rock climbing wall and swinging obstacles to tackle ninja warrior style.

Buckler Park, Helensvale

Rock climbing cubes and a spinning orb with climbing ropes await park goers at Buckler Park. Slides can only be accessed from various climbing points, with the challenge being that the slides have no platforms or stairs attached to them and must be accessed by the rope nets. This one incorporates a lot of fun challenges with its ninja elements!

Forest Green Park, Pimpama

Forest Green Park received an Award of Excellence – Play Spaces at the 2019 Queensland Landscape Architecture Awards in recognition of the playground’s elements of exploration, discovery, role play, balance, climbing, storytelling, exhilaration, and social interaction. A central mound provides the perfect location for an 8m high hill slide, timber log play forts, sandstone block stair climb, and sand play at the base. The playground also includes a reclaimed fallen tree for climbing over, and big sandstone boulders and climbing structures continue the theme of undefined play and exploration.

Schuster Park, Tallebudgera

Schuster Park at Tallebudgera is a Jungle themed park best suited to children aged 4 and over. With a heavy focus on climbing, each playground piece has a number of climbing nets leading to slides, towers and platforms.

Codrington Park, Pacific Pines

This playground is designed for climbing, with plenty of climbing structures, nets, bridges and walls that will keep the older ninja warriors occupied. There is also a flying fox that all the kids will love.

Discovery Park, Helensvale

This park caters for a wide range of ages, with varying levels of climbing difficulty. There are two play towers with a bridge, a small ninja climbing structure, swing set and and a spinner. My kids loved this playground, with plenty of opportunities to engage in puzzles and other games under the equipment as well.

Rosemallow Park, Upper Coomera

The playground here is quite sprawling, with plenty of climbing opportunities, imaginative play in the shop front, swings, musical instruments, a see saw and a slide. Being fully fenced, you can comfortably let the kids wander around the playground and explore, as there is a lot to discover!

Tweed Recreation Ground Park, Tweed Heads

Here there are plenty of climbing features, including plenty of climbing nets, swinging steps and even a rock climbing wall! This is a space children can move easily through, exploring and discovering new things all the time.

Goldmine Reserve Park, Ormeau

Ideal for primary schoolers, this playground is packed with climbing opportunities to test their skills. While there are two slides of differing heights, the main attraction here is the numerous rope climbing nets, balancing obstacles and monkey bars. For kids who like ninja style play opportunities, this is the spot for them. This playground is not for the toddlers, with pretty much everything in the playground only accessible by climbing on a rope obstacle.

Bim’bimba Park, Pimpama

If your child is a climber – this park is for them!! There are so many things to balance on, climb through and over, and hang from, you could easily make up some ninja warrior courses here.
