The iconic AquaDuck has been seen driving or cruising around Surfers Paradise for many years now, and while it’s touristy, it’s actually a really great family day out!
Embarking at Cavill Avenue in the heart of Surfers Paradise, you first take a drive down the Esplanade overlooking the beautiful beaches. Driving past Main Beach and Narrowneck, you’ll head down towards The Spit, driving past all the sights.
Once you reach the boat ramp just past SeaWorld, the tour changes pace and you’re heading for the water! Watch as the amphibious ‘duck’ changes from bus to boat and gently glides into the water. Now you’ll head through the Broadwater and into the start of the Nerang River to check out how the millionaires live. You’ll finally return to land and drive down Tedder Avenue, before finishing back up at Cavill Avenue.
The tour takes about an hour and is very family friendly. There were heaps of kids on board and every single one of them loved it – a few of the little ones even fell asleep during the cruise, it was so relaxing!
Keep an eye out on Gold Coast tourism sites for discounts, and during school holidays there are often adults at kids prices promotions, making it a great value holiday outing.
