The Palm Beach Aquatic Centre reopened at the end of October 2024 following a redevelopment that has seen this facility brought up to modern day standards, with 4 heated pools, including a 50m outdoor pool, 25m outdoor pool, indoor warm water program pool, 25m indoor learn to swim pool, and an outdoor splash pad.
A splash pad is always a fun addition to an aquatic centre, and a lifesaver for parents of little ones who want to get wet but aren’t confident swimmers. The splash pad at Palm Beach is fairly simple in design, with plenty of sprayers along the ground as well as a few water play towers and spinners. What I absolutely love about this splash pad compared to many others however, is it is made entirely of a rubber base. This might not seem significant, but if you have a crawler – you will understand the benefits of this!! While most Gold Coast splash pads have a pebblecrete base which is not very gentle on little knees, this rubber base is so comfortable to run, stand and crawl on. I would definitely rate Palm Beach as the best splash pad to go to if you have children under 2yrs!
The 2 largest pools are outdoors, with some moveable shading available however it wasn’t in place when we visited. The 2 indoor pools are for learn to swim and hydrotherapy – children are not allowed in the hydrotherapy pool, but you may use the learn to swim pool outside of lesson hours – check the pool hours for details.
Other facilities onsite include a gym, creche, cafe and community centre. Undercover parking is available onsite.
