Put a spin on your traditional playdoh mix and make some gingerbread playdoh! Perfect for little people to pretend baking cookies, this is a great addition to any play kitchens or just get it out on the kitchen bench while you’re cooking and let them join in.
Playdoh Recipe
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 3tbsp oil (any kind)
- 2tbsp cream of tartar
- 1tbsp ground ginger
- 2tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup boiling water
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. It will be a bit crumbly at first, but you will need to knead the doh with your hands and before you know it you will have a smooth, beautifully scented playdoh! If any of the kids get a bit too keen on it, rest assured this recipe is taste safe and a few licks will be fine!
This recipe can easily be adapted – I didn’t have any ginger but I did have nutmeg, so I switched the two. Work with what you’ve got!!
